Because this is where I’ll be tomorrow.
It’s The Montage in Laguna Beach, California. We’ll be there until Thursday.
My sister, my mom, Jake, and I fly out of Nashville at 8:00 in the morning. We have to be at the airport at 6:30, which means I’ll be up by 5:00 a.m., an ungodly hour. But, I’m [...]

I’m usually the one behind the camera so I don’t have many pictures of me and Jake. And because this is my blog and I choose the photos that I post, I often choose NOT to post certain photos (for example, that whole swimsuit-gone-wrong photo) because, well, they are deeply disturbing. Trust me. You don’t [...]

Before Jake came into our lives, I said I would never be that parent whose house is overrun with big plastic toys. And I definitely would NEVER keep them in my living room. I didn’t want my house to look babyfied or kiddiefied. Then, after Jake came along and we were living in a very [...]

Jake’s bathtime is so much fun. If he’s had a fussy evening, it is the one thing that calms him down and instantly changes his mood from grumpy to happy. He giggles, he splashes, he tries to eat the bubbles. And when he’s finished, he is usually ready to finish eating and go to bed.
A [...]

I’ve officially decided that Jake is allowed to use the word hate when referencing his eczema. If he wants to say “I hate eczema” I think it’s okay because I hate it too. Furthermore, if he wants to say, “Eczema is stupid,” I think I may even allow that. Because eczema is stupid, and I [...]

Yep. That’s teefers with an “s”. Plural, two, dos teefers. They’re through and coming up fast. Every once in a while Jake gives me that silly grin and I can see them down in the bottom of his mouth and, oh, are they ever cute.
Is it silly that I’m excited to break out the baby [...]

When I was preggers with Jake all my mom friends raved about these mesh fruit and veggie feeders. So after Jake came along, I bought a set of two at Target and our lives haven’t been the same since. These things are AMAZING.
I have the Munchkin brand, but there may be other brands available (unless [...]

I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a second blog for all things not Jake related. But the thought of keeping up with one more thing right now makes my eyes twitch. Maybe once our landscaping is under control and the painting in the house is finished, I can justify spending time on something [...]
